smokeCCT’s technology is a patented and proprietary uni-polar pulsed discharge system that is easily installed on industrial, commercial and residential boiler systems as well as mobile and stationary diesel engines. Basically, when  a high concentration of negative ions are injected into the combustion process it has been shown to have a catalytic effect in the combustion cycle. Therefore, the technology is viable for a wide range of combustion systems because it is a preventive, “pre-combustion” technology that is readily scalable.

All combustion systems have inherent limitations in efficiency and emission profiles due to the slow reaction kinetics of ordinary air. Combustion systems performance can be greatly improved by increasing the reactivity of the incoming air and this can be achieved by adding electrons to the air immediately before the combustion reactions begin. Negatively charged oxygen ions (O2-) have been shown to be ten million times more reactive than neutral oxygen molecules.

Supplying a high concentration of the ions leads to faster and more complete combustion of hydrocarbon fuels in all combustion systems once a threshold level is exceeded. The ions decouple the usual relation between complete combustion and NOx production. NOx levels are reduced along with CO, HC and PM.
